Evelyn Day - Extreme Chocolate Maker

Extreme chocolate maker

Hi – I’m Evelyn Day – previously a Brighton-based chocolate artist but having just moved I’m delighted to say that I am now a Jersey-based chocolate artist. I’ve been passionate about chocolate all my life and I’ve found a way to translate that passion into (incr)edible art!

Inspired by my love of travel and architecture I make edible art for everyone to enjoy because beautiful food tastes better. Now you can also buy Chocadyllic chocolates gifts and presents bringing joy to chocolate lovers around the world.

In 2019 I featured on a number of episodes of Channel 4’s Extreme Chocolate Makers. It’s a lighthearted behind-the-scenes TV series showcasing extreme chocolate makers in the United Kingdom.

You can still catch up on all the Channel 4 shows here on All 4.

A look behind the scenes

People often ask me how I started working in chocolate and how Chocadyllic started. In this amazing video you’ll hear all those questions and more.

You can also see The Making of the Thai Shrine in Chocolate on my YouTube channel.

I’d love to know what you think, so please comment on the videos. I hope you enjoy them!

Frequently Asked Questions

People often want to know more about my chocolate creations. Pease don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any more questions. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

Do you deliver your chocolate sculptures?

Yes, we do deliver the chocolate sculptures. We deliver for free within Brighton & Hove. We charge £15 per hour plus travel costs such as petrol for places further afield.

How much do you charge for your chocolate work?

I like to work with my clients’ budgets in mind. So do get in touch and we can plan your very own special chocolate showpiece to fit your requirements.

How long do your sculptures take to make?

My bespoke chocolate showpieces take a minimum of two days. The large pieces can take any number of days as it depends on the complexity and size of the commission. But I can often work to a clients’ budgets by tailoring the design, scale and complexity.

How long do your chocolate sculptures last?

I use the best possible Belgian couverture chocolate which has long best before dates. Dark chocolate can last for up to 18 months. One of my chocolate sculptures can keep for years if you wanted to keep it on show. You will need to keep it in the right conditions – away from sunlight and other heat sources. I can also provide beautiful clear acrylic covers for display purposes.

Do you make Cakes?

I make the most delicious and tasty cakes, even if I say so myself! My signature chocolate cake is legendary and always goes down well at celebrations and events.
I make the cakes in three different sizes; small (serves 8-10 people), medium (16-20 people), or large (34-40 people).

Additionally I tend to make the cakes separately from the chocolate showpieces. This way neither the taste of the cake or the chocolate sculpture is compromised. However, on request, I can also design your sculpture to incorporate a cake into the plinth for the showpiece to sit on.
Clients can provide their own cake if they prefer, so long as it doesn’t have to form part of the showpiece.

Ingredients

It has always been important to me that what I create with cake and chocolate tastes as good as it looks. So I use the best possible Belgian couverture chocolate. The dark chocolate is vegan. You can see the ingredients in each of the products listings. I also use biodegradable packaging.

I’d love to hear from you!
